Energy Policy Act 2005

On August 8, 2005, President Bush signed EPAct2005. This is the largest overhaul of the national energy policy since 1992. The bill promotes energy efficiency and conservation by providing attractive tax incentives. Now is the time to invest in upgrading your commercial or government building lighting systems.

Some benefits of EPAct 2005 according to the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) are¹:

• Estimated energy capacity savings for lighting of about 312MW of electricity for the 2-year provision of EPAct2005.
• Reduction of about 10 million metric tons of carbon emissions.
